Cognitive Behavior Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a focused form of psychotherapy that is the most widely researched therapy that exists today. There is more research support for its efficacy than there is for any other form of therapy. CBT is a short-term treatment designed to be collaborative, structured, and goal-oriented. It places a strong emphasis on teaching patients skills and relapse prevention.  As part of a comprehensive Behavioral Science program, CBT is taught to residents at Mountainside Family Practice Associates.  Residents learn how to assess, understand, treat and refer patients utilizing CBT. Throughout their training, residents come to understand how invaluable CBT is in helping them manage their patients care.
